Africa has been waiting for you. The question is whether you're ready for it.
Most operators sell a seat on a vehicle. We design an encounter — yours alone. Private Land Cruiser. Maximum 4 guests. Conservancy access no group tour can enter. The Masai Mara the way it was before it became a destination.
#1 Specialized Kenya Operator 2026
Imagine the light at 6pm in the Mara. Now imagine sharing it with the person who made the last twenty years worth it.
Nine Private Journeys. One Standard: Yours Alone.
Choose your duration. Choose your style. Every format includes a private Land Cruiser, a guide who knows this land by name, and a maximum of 4 guests. Not 6. Not 8. Four — so every seat is a window seat and every decision is yours.
"The Explorer"
From $1,500 pp all-inclusive
Three days of fast-paced field tracking across private conservancy corridors. Dawn departures. Bush lunch. You're back in Nairobi before the weekend ends — changed.
"The Photographer"
From $2,800 pp all-inclusive
Your guide kills the engine. Holds the position. Stays as long as you need the shot. Built for photographers who know the difference between a good frame and the frame.
"The Sundowner"
From $3,400 pp all-inclusive
Fly in. Bypass the road entirely. Arrive at camp with champagne already poured. Three days of extraordinary wildlife, then a flight back — no dust, no hours in a vehicle.
"The Trailblazer"
From $2,300 pp all-inclusive
Start in Samburu — reticulated giraffes, Grevy's zebra, species you won't see anywhere else. Then south to the Mara. Two completely different Kenyas in five days.
"The Dreamcatcher"
From $3,900 pp all-inclusive
Five days is when Kenya reveals itself properly. Your guide maps the pride territories on day one. By day three, you're finding animals before he calls them.
"The Horizon Chaser"
From $4,800 pp all-inclusive
Rise before dawn. Float above 1.5 million wildebeest as the sun breaks the horizon. One hour that justifies the entire flight from wherever you're coming from.
"Ultimate Kenya"
From $5,900 pp all-inclusive
Africa's largest elephant herds against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. Then four days in the Mara with the big cats. The complete Kenya — nothing left out.
"The Voyager"
From $4,900 pp all-inclusive
Seven days is how long it takes to understand a place. By the end, your guide knows which lion is which. You might too. The Mara at depth — not at speed.
"The Constellation"
From $6,500 pp all-inclusive
Sleep on an open platform under the African night sky with an armed ranger below. The Milky Way unobstructed. The wilderness audible. The experience unrepeatable.
We Built Sundown Because
the Best Moment in Africa
Should Belong to You
There is a moment in the Masai Mara that changes people. The sun drops below the acacia line. The air goes still. A lion exhales twenty metres from your vehicle and the sound travels through your chest. You will remember it for the rest of your life.
We have been operating private safaris out of Nairobi for seven years. In that time we have watched the industry change in ways that worry us. Vehicles doubled. Sighting queues grew. Guides started managing group schedules instead of reading wildlife. The moment that changes people started getting crowded out.
Sundown Safaris was built around a single conviction: the most extraordinary wildlife encounter you will ever have should not be shared with seven strangers on a different schedule. It should belong entirely to you and the people you chose to bring.
Every vehicle we operate carries a maximum of four guests. Not because the regulations require it. Because anything more compromises the silence, the positioning, and the patience that turns a sighting into a memory.
The Guide Changes Everything
Our guides have tracked these corridors for years. They know individual animal territories, family compositions, and the subtle signs that tell them where to be twenty minutes before anyone else arrives. You cannot replicate that with a map and a radio report.
Land Nobody Else Can Enter
We hold active licences in Mara North and Olare Motorogi conservancies. These are private wilderness corridors bordering the Masai Mara where group tours are not permitted. Night drives. Off road access. Three vehicles maximum at any sighting. The experience is categorically different.
Accountability You Can Check
We are KATO bonded and TRA licensed. Every vehicle in our fleet is independently audited. Every guide carries a certified Kenya Wildlife Service credential. We name our guides. We describe our vehicles. We tell you exactly what is included before you commit to anything.
"We talk about what happens between you and the person sitting next to you in the jeep. That is the safari we are here to build."
