For seven years we have run private safaris out of Nairobi, and we have watched things change. More vehicles. Longer queues at every sighting. Guides who spend their day managing a schedule instead of reading the bush. The quiet that makes a sighting unforgettable was being crowded out.
So we built Sundown around one simple belief. The best wildlife moment of your life should not be shared with strangers on a different schedule. It should belong to you and the people you chose to bring.
That is why we keep every vehicle small, with four guests at most. Anything more costs you the silence, the best positions and the patience that turn a sighting into a memory. A bigger group is welcome too. You simply travel in more than one vehicle, and each one is still yours.
Your guide makes the difference
Our guides know these corridors like their own neighbourhood. They know which animal holds which territory, which families travel together, and the small signs that tell them where to be twenty minutes before anyone else arrives. You cannot get that from a map or a radio report.
Places most visitors never see
We hold licences in the Mara North and Olare Motorogi conservancies. These private wilderness areas border the Masai Mara, and large group tours are not permitted. Night drives, off road driving and never more than three vehicles at a sighting. It feels completely different.
